Crazed Mommy

What would possess any sane mother to let her kids have pet mice. I'll tell you why this crazed mommy did. We went to the pet store to see the puppies. I guess walking into that store was the first mistake. So we played with this adorable cockapoo puppy and our kids are dying to get a dog. After lots of whining I finally said it was time to put the puppy back. It's not time to get a dog yet. (Moving, taking the Bar, not knowing where we are living in SLC yet are a few reasons) Adding a puppy would be bad. So the kids walk over and start laughing at the crazy mice running around in circles. They were quite entertained for about 20 minutes and everyone else in the store was entertained by them laughing at the mice. So being the pushover I am, when they asked if we could get mice instead, I reluctantly gave in. Needless to say we now have squeaky and brownie who are two messy, noisy mice that our children absolutely adore. Here are a few pix.

Sarah, your children are darling, the sisters and you are all darling, and the American Girl experience is a once-in-a-lifetime memory. (Don't let today's economies prevent tomorrow's memories has been my motto.)
I loved your blog and seeing the mice. I am at Jen's and we are spending our days and nights burping these twins, but it has been so fun.

I remember when we had gerbils (only had a dog briefly, like weeks). When the gerbil died, Duane wondered if he should go right down and buy another one. My reply was, "When we have pets we cherish them as family members, but when they die we certainly do not go out and buy another."

Love to you all, and special thoughts are with Tayler when he takes the bar. Good luck!

Hi Sar-
I guess mice are easier than dogs, right?
Can't wait to have you back in the good ol' SLC!

I just read yesterday that raising mice, rats or hamsters makes children smarter! Whoulda' thunk it. . . .
